I teach some teenagers who are more mature than he. . .

glasgow and strathclyde university are renowned for philosophical or theoretical degrees.

paisley and caledonian are renowned for vocational degrees,

(i have a friend who has a masters in philosphy from glasgow yet cannot even get a job in an office as he has no it skills.)

aberneth you are merely a snob and have no idea what your talking about

i am studying financial risk managment that is not only unavailable at glasgow and strathclyde, but i am doing it at caledonian which is the only uni in britain to offer an honours in this subject.

therefore financial institutes such as banks and insurance firms have been recruiting students directly from caledonian uni.

so think what you what

Won't there be a requirement for the use and understanding of basic English if you join a bank or insurance firm? Or were you merely proposing to work in one of the outsourced call centres?
