Growing up with little interest in football, around a place where you were defined by your choice of team & later living within spitting distance of a premier-league stadium gave me a whole lot of reasons to dislike football that IMO hold condiderably more validity than the OP's.

Its not the sport, I've no problems with that or those who want to play it. Just I find the worship of teams & how that gets right out of proportion & the antics of some sections of the fan-base to be utterly deplorable.

I for one won't be wasting much time on the World Cup.

I have to agree with part of what you said pogofish, gone are the days when people watched
football on it's merit, they all have to feel the need to denegrade other fans when their team wins...
many a team has won even when they play badly !!

To me it's the quality of the game that matters !!

Yes I will be watching as many of the World Cup games as I can !!

i hav nothing against german, i have been to munich twice when i was young and found them very nice.

I just hold football fans in contempt, i think football is very ,very simple.which is why hairy working class people watch it often.

its is the sam working class who are drivin by cheap cider and violence, that is what i have against football
