Commonwalth Games

So far Scotland are doing well in the medals table !!

G .. S .. B .. Country
28 22 21 Australia
13 13 11 England
8 .. 6 .. 1 ..India

6 .. 5 .. 4 .. SCOTLAND
5 .. 2 .. 5..South Africa

The delegation in Melbourne is smaller than it was in Manchester 4 years ago -
166 competitors (104 men and 62 women) compared with a representation of 193 last time !!

In Manchester four years ago, they took 6 gold , 8 silver and 16 bronze medals !!

Come on Engerland!

I think the Commonwealth game is a good way of preparing our folks for the Olympics, not to mention being fun to watch without having the americans win everything.

There's one Gold missing from that list because Gregor Tait also won the 200m medley. Only David Wilkie had ever won double swimming Golds for Scotland prior to these games and now three Scots have managed it in Melbourne.
