Is there a strong fencing community in scotland? Here in NZ there is a strong fencing community but few international class fencers, our No. 1 epeeist getting 6/8 in the olympic qualifiers. Any info or contacts would be useful.

There's all sorts of fencing in Scotland... stone walls, hedges, etc...

When I was growing up, I helped with the fencing... usually after the cows made a jailbreak. We used wire and wooden posts. I wouldn't count myself as an international class fencer, but I have an idea how its done.

(I hope you are not serious...)

By fencing i assume every one knows that it is the olympic sport of fighting with one of three swords, the Foil, the Epee and the Sabre.

Walls indeed!
