Scotland playing France later this month...

Internationals always put me in mind of this classic from World Cup 1982:

I awoke in the night with a fever
And the sky was the darkest blue.
And a still, small voice was calling to me,
"Your country is needing you"
(Aye, aye jist lik that!)
And away, away in the distance,
I can just make out this ball
Comin in from the left.
And I'm startin to run,
Tae run like hell!
And the voice is gettin louder,
And louder, and louder, cryin..
"HEY BIG YIN, GAUN YERSEL!!!"
I have a dream, if dreams come true
Then Bonnie Scotland, I'll play for you.
I hope and pray that if i do,
Then Bonnie Scotland,
I'll score the winning goal for you.
Then the next thing i know,
Someone's gone and tripped me
and I've fallen just inside the boax
(That's a penalty!)
The ref, he looks to his linesman,
And he's pointin straight at the spot!
(That's brill-yunt!)
Then John Robertson, who normally takes them,
is handing the ball to ME (you don't say)
Then I hear my old lady screamin blue murder,
She's sayin "IT'S NO THE BAW YER KICKIN,
YA EEJIT, IT'S ME!!!"
We have a dream, if dreams come true
then Bonnie Scotland, we'll play for you.
We hope and pray that if we do,
then Bonnie Scotland,
We'll score the winning goal for you...
