I thought Scottish Cricket was on the up - Have our national team not recently applied for Test status?

Tsk..... defeatism is not a pretty sight, Tam... We are, after all, the world champions in Elephant Polo (for the second, consecutive year) and the Olympic champions for curling.... We are a mighty colossus in terms of sports!

What happened was that they had a great opportunity to win something finally after 20 years of loosing. Which they did end up winning and good for them but it was not the excellent telly coverage that did it. The TV coverage was every bit as good as it was last year. The reason it did well this year is because they were looking to win and everyone loves a winner, just ask the national rugby and football teams and sporting hero's. Then ask them what happens the next time they loose.
