Can Celtic claw back a 5-0 drubbing?

(Queue theme from Mission Impossible)

Agent Strachan, This is your mission should you choose to accept it, go out in front of 60,000 Celtic fans and kick start your Celtic management career. All you have to do is claw back 5 goals and concede none. Bookies are offering 12-1 on you qualifying for the next round. You are minus the English agent Sutton but you do have a Welshman, a Bulgarian, a Japanese and several Scottish hitmen. You are captained by one of Ulsters finest. 5-0 would bring it into extra time, a goal against would be a disater.

Can Celtic do it?

Thumbs up Yeah we can!

I know Celtic can score atleast 5 goals in 90 minutes against Artmedia but whether they can keep a clean sheet is another matter. Gordon Strachan is a good manager and I'm sure he will have put right our defensive failings by 19:45 this evening. Our players know how much this means to the fans and I know it means a lot to the players and that they will give everything they've got to complete their mission. I have to believe and do believe that we will win 5-0 tonight and go and win it in extra-time.

Their defence at present has more holes than a Swiss cheese-if they concede 4 goals to a team like Motherwell I don't see them going 90 minutes without conceding one tonight.Even with Chris Sutton they would be struggling but without him it's hopeless.I'm afraid it's curtains for Celtic tonight and a P45 for Strachan before the month's out.

Having enjoyed such good runs in Europe in recent seasons I don't think the fans will accept failure in the first round and it will be financially disastrous for the club so unless there is a spectacular turnaround in form I don't see Strachan remaining very long, which is unfortunate because he has plenty of managerial experience and ability. He inherited a team who are past their best and I think the commitment of players like Varga and Balde needs to be questioned.
