Hmm...that's a corny way of thinking, isn't it? yes but over the century it has been played there has been no fatal injury as of yet in the game!( note it is also the fastest field game in the world) |

I didn't know about it until I asked about it, so...!

ok so if you go into the gaa website and go to the four crests below the main index and click on any of those they will bring you to the provincial link from there you can access the individual counties ie down galway cork etc. each county website has a photo gallery ,while many of them are just team photos and other photos of people nobody knows, you will also find a lot of photos from the fields of action! if you are looking for only hurling photos the main hurling counties would be kilkeny, tipperary, waterford, clare, cork, galway.
sorry couldnt be more useful!! |

Little-known fact; Mr. H.M. Stanley, the chap who met Dr. Livingstone, was a patron of the Oban shinty club when it was constituted in 1892. Shinty is one of many Scottish Gaelic games. (Search in Google for "patronage"+"lorna jackson") Lorna Jackson`s chapter in Sport in the Making of Celtic Cultures (ed. by Grant Jarvie) is most enlightening. |
