Hurling is a similar, Irish game.

Okey, then it's close to (Field-)bandy rules and playing?! Or am I wrong?

Well, it's like the one on ice. The rules are the same and the goal size and all that but you don't play it on ice...

There is an annual international match between Ireland and Scotland where a set of composite hurling/shinty rules is used.

The reason why shinty,curling etc. don't receive widespread coverage in the Scottish media is because football and rugby are the most popular sports and minority sports therefore find it difficult to generate interest amongst the public.
