You read it right. A record score. I was so proud to have been there. Is our national rugby team back on the rails? Next week against Australia in Glasgow should give us an indication - a REAL test against the best in the world.

Couple of points. I don't like bursting anyones bubble, btw.

Japan are an awful team, and they didn't even have their best players out.

I don't say this as a fan of team england. Quite frankly I hate the union boys and would prefer scotland to beat england. I am a league man and the way the sport is treated in england is despicable.

But put things into context. A blindfolded 72 year old ex liverpool st helens player would have beaten that japanese team single handedly.

Doesn't really matter. 100 is 100 and gives them a bit of confidence. I dont expect we'll do anything against the Aussies though.

Dont know anythng about League except that the "Great Britain" international side is really "Northern England" and nobody up here gives much of a toss about it. However, it WAS good to have the Challenge Cup final in Edinburgh a few years back. You're all welcome to come back.

It would be rather foolhardy to suggest otherwise but in the past many of the greats have come outside northern england, and Brian Carney, one of our best players is from Ireland.

The Challenge cup held in edinburgh is well remembered by league fans as a great occasion. I do hope it returns one day. Well behaved yet passionate fans.

Now, in response to your union match, 100 points is less of an achievement against a rag tag bunch of no hopers than it is against a decent side. The only thing you can take from this is, your boys know where the try line is.

Agreed, but it was good (and a change) to watch the lads tearing into SOMEONE's defence! A narrow 7-5 win over the aussies would be MUCH more acceptable, and much less likely nunfortunately.

Agreed, as a morale boost I think it could be good for the team.
