Just out of curiousity Sire-Chris, what does that mean?
I am referring to the anti-support english teams recieve in european and world competitions by scottish fans. I am in agreement that some of it is in good fun but there is no doubt that there is tension between the two sets of fans and there really is no common ground to base a singular league upon.

Rangers and Celtic leaving would make a mockery of the existing scottish league and would do a number of english teams a great disservice. We built the league, and its our reward that it is so strong at the moment.

Most Scottish football fans don't have a big problem with English teams .HONESTLY.Our biggest problem is with the arrogance and bias of the media. No one has any right to actually beat England in their opinion.Everytime i'm asked why i don't want English team to win i can sum it up in 2 words "Gary Lineker" or maybe "Des Lynam" just to see their faces after a defeat.PRICLESS.They never give any team any credit, always excuses.Don't think i have ever heard any these guys actually saying they got beat by a better team.As for tension between fans that is a minority is it not ,usual thing in football most fans get on fine do they not.

We don't want them here! Who are they suddenly going to shove out of our league? Just because the premier league is one of the strongest there is and they want a piece of the pie doesn't mean we should grant it to them, especially considering the opinion of your average scottish football fan.

Aside from a few fat business minded footballing executives, everyone agrees it is a preposterous idea.

Sire- Chris ,

it won't happen ! The UEFA rules do not allow that .

I was just making fun out of it , due to the fact ,that any rich person can buy a football club .

I know , that I'm off topic , but I think we 're as well a discussion board .

Bigsteveo,

I think it as a lot to do with Tolerance.
When I was a teenager , I hated it , when Bayern Munich
was beating my team VfB Stuttgart . I hated them so much ,and wished at that time , they just would disappear .
Now I'm older , and I even respect Bayern Munich . I see, that they help , to get a better reputation about the german football.
Narrow minded Players like Gary Lineker or Des Lynam you get in any country .
And by the way , us germans know about scottish fans ,
they have a very good reputation .I love it , when a scottish team plays in Germany .Scottish fans are fun , and they are very fair.

I think you do us a diss-service Sire-Chris...

ALL of the scottish football fans I know ALSO have a favourite Premier League team...and we are always interested in how that team does particularily in Europe...

and your right...C and R leaving Scotland would initially take most of the emphasis off of the SPL, particularily by the TV companies, but in time like anything it would adjust...

Personally I think it would be a great thing for the two teams to move down to say the 1st division and have to work there way into the Premier league through the promotion/relegation... I think both teams have proved in the past they are good enough to compete with many of the premiership teams...

but like you have said...it aint gonna happen...

However the original thread topic was... "Foreign Players - Good or Bad for Scotland".. based on a domestic level and are our young ones being given enough opertunities....

the same question could be asked of the Premiership... as International players have swarmed your league too...

Please though try not to be so judgemental of Scottish Fans.. I am sure you will find that we all have Favourite English teams too...and Spanish, and Itallian teams...

I think they're a mixed blessing. Yes it is good to get foreign talent to bolster the league, but if it squeezes out homegrown, it is counter productive.

Personally I'd like to see a lot more foreign (youth) trainers in sports in Scotland, rather than foreign players, since I think they'd be more productive in the long run
