Re: Re: Re: Euro 2004

Well here we are again...

Scotland poking holes and England making fun...

Week in and week out I watch Scottish and English football both, I enjoy both. I dont when watching the players even for a second consider which country the players all come from...two of the best players on my favourite team are English and I would shout for them till I ran over a horse... several other players that I watch all the time in the premiership are also English and week in week out I root for them...yet for some reason when I watch England play I hope they loose....as a nation... not a team or as an individual... I lived in England for almost 2 years I have family married to Englishmen, and women, I love them all... and for each and every individual english person I know and love I feel sorry for them if in some way they feel scunnered at this outcome...

But at the end of the day...You are English and we are Scottish ... we are natural rivals.. now that may well not mean any thing to us while we are as individuals but when supporting our teams...our National team... we all become, all of us in all countrys, nationalistic..

And, on a Scottish website you will find many Scottish people venting how they feel about Englands demise...surprise surprise...on english websites they are also talking about englands end... that we have different views is understandable....all i can say is that not even all english wanted england to win so why should all scottish??...

As moderator it is my job to regulate the conversations and be impartial....

and to this end i agree and dissagree with both sides on several things but in the other things I have to say.... we are Natural Rivals...its only natural for us to dissagree ...

look on the bright side...english fans..

you have done far better than us many times in football...and for the long forseeable future..lol

but we are as a Nation allowed to poke fun at our neihbours... as they poke fun at us...and other neihbours of their own..

Try not to be so defensive...both sides...as, as english it was obviously your time to loose..and as scots... you havent won any victory's lately either...another teams demise does not in phoenix's rise...

Now that sweeden got knocked out tonight I want the Cheq's to win it all!!

Seriously, if you want to remain impartial don't just concentrate on any english posters making points. I can see where your coming from, but I have never deliberately provoked any poster here or started any arguement. I have merely engaged in banter with others who have made points, and I hardly see how that is wrong. Its a messageboard and you will get good natured conflict and debate. Without it, the messageboard is dead.

I am neither angry nor surprised by the negativity which england is met on here, but it is not wrong for me to react to it. After all, the rivalry exists.

When I say arguements, I mean the picky angry kind, lol. I am not suggesting I never refute anything anyone says!

Just remind me...how did scotland do? I was too busy watching england to notice and I didn't recall seeing your name on the fixture list...

Best wishes, etc...
