Not very strange about the same compard to what's going on inother parts of the UK

ie, England:

All of whats been mentioned but include

Cheese Chasing
Wellington boot throwing/highkick
Barrel of Fire (Lewes, also in Yorkshire set a barrel on fire and then run like F*ck carrying it on your shoulders) quite entertaining to watch, lol

That game in Derbyshire which involves the whole town about 1000 players and goes on for 3days. A cross between football/rugby/. A landmark on different sides of the town (afew miles apart) is selected as goals a ball is then thrown into the crowd waiting outside the townhall and then its down to battle. The idea is to get the ball to touch the landmark to score a point. A great game which involves the whole town even outsiders can get involved you just need to pick a team, nowhere the goal is and get down to it. (the game happens at the same time every year, and has done for the last so many hundred years)

Others but I cant think of them

In reply to Mistree:

lol, I know it does sound stupid doesn't it but it's a traditional English event and has been for a few hundred years. It mainly occurs in the Home counties and the southern areas.

This link talks about it in Gloucestershire

http://www.2camels.com/destination1.php3

The games involves finding the steepest hill you can and then roll a big cheese down it. As a participant all you need to do is to just hurl your self down the hill after the cheese who ever catches it before it stops wins the cheese, lol thats the prize.

People can end up with broken bones but its a great laugh watching it.

Have a read of the link
