New poll gives SNP 22 point lead over Labour

The SNP are currently doing something one could only have imagined: sending the Brit nats to hades.

Majority aspire to independence for Scotland

An opinion poll to be published in The Herald newspaper is expected to show a majority of voters want to choose a new future for Scotland and are backing independence.

Yes voters take lead in new independence poll - Herald Scotland | News | Politics

39% YES

38% NO

23% DON'T KNOW

Quote:
39% Scots say they would vote Yes for independence

This 39% is about equal to the 42% who will vote SNP, approx. 40%.

This kind of debunks the idea that people who vote for unionist parties may not vote SNP but will vote Yes for independence.

Or does it?

In effect of those intending to vote, 42% will vote SNP in the Westminster elections.

Of those intending to vote in the coming referendum, at the moment, slightly over 50% (50.64%) would vote Yes. That may validate the view that more people will vote Yes than vote for the SNP.

Or does it, anybody else got a view?

AND in the referendum is 50% + 0.64% enough to declare victory? Any UN conventions on this?

if they do the referendum right and go by majority rules the 50.64% would win but it might not be as easy as that...look at the last time they did it n counted all those that didnt vote as a NO vote

it would only have to be enough to convince the rest of the uk to let us go and the un would not need to get involved.....i doubt if they would anyway as theyre only interested when they can invade for oil n gas etc

The interesting thing is that the NO vote has gone to DON'T KNOW which means that as Salmond said, "Win the arguments and you can win the referendum".

The NO vote is much softer than I thought it was and we alredy have a drift to YES from the DON'T KNOWS.

The economic position which is very very strong must be spelled out to dispell the Brit nat B.S. .
