The 'new measures' being that if you write something sectarian on an internet forum you'll be put away for up to five years, while people convicted of carrying a knife or attempted murderer could potentially get less?
What'll happen is a bunch of daft wee boys in keyboard warrior mode writing 'FTP', 'Orange bassas' etc will either be referred to the children's panel and/or locked up in a young offender's institute. Salmond knows that sectarianism is the flavour of the month issue in Scotland. Pathetic political posturing and nothing more. |

I support it. Its a start. Plus, I don't hear any alternative solutions coming from any of the naysayers, either here or in the Tory Party.
I don't want to take my kids to a fitba game where there's hundreds (or thousands at Ibrox or Parkheid) singing songs of hate. Its got f-all to do with fitba for a start. If folk are so keen on religion or Irish politics then there's other avenues for it.
