Sectrianism

I approve of the new measures. If anything they don't go far enough.

The 'new measures' being that if you write something sectarian on an internet forum you'll be put away for up to five years, while people convicted of carrying a knife or attempted murderer could potentially get less?

What'll happen is a bunch of daft wee boys in keyboard warrior mode writing 'FTP', 'Orange bassas' etc will either be referred to the children's panel and/or locked up in a young offender's institute.

Salmond knows that sectarianism is the flavour of the month issue in Scotland. Pathetic political posturing and nothing more.

I f*ckin come from Glasgow mate. I grew up with this sh*t all around me. I've had friends stabbed and killed because of it. I support ANYTHING that works towards trying to make sectarianism a feature of the past.

i know what your saying jebus but i think its all a bit knee jerk tbh

and comparing someone sending a bomb or someone who murders people to someone singing a song is ridiculous

90 mins singing at a footie game doesnt mean youl kill or hate your neighbours does it?

and do you think plod will waltz into ibrox or parkhead and arrest 30 thousand people?

i think not

I support it. Its a start. Plus, I don't hear any alternative solutions coming from any of the naysayers, either here or in the Tory Party.

I don't want to take my kids to a fitba game where there's hundreds (or thousands at Ibrox or Parkheid) singing songs of hate. Its got f-all to do with fitba for a start. If folk are so keen on religion or Irish politics then there's other avenues for it.
