Ah um g o n n a e 'say ' th is sl oooooowly, sooo you wull un er st au nnn meeee....

Aw the ither Lallans/Doric/Auld Scots spierers on here have no problems in understanding one another. NONE of them can make hide nor hair out of what you are 'saying'.....

It must be difficult learning a foreign way of speaking as an adult - but you're just embarrassin yersel noo, son.

BTW I'm FEMALE, no male.

Promises, Promises.

And, byraway, that's 'MAIR' nor mae...

Listen, you cannot convince any of us Lallans speakers that you are speaking any type of Scottish language.

If you want to continue here, please use Standard Inglis - at least then EVERYONE will understand you, rather than you talking to yourself.

Failing that, then I'm not going to get drawn into trying to understand what you keep telling us is a 'different' accented Scots. If not a single Scot on here can understand it, it patently ISN'T Scots.

BTW - there are a few of us on here who are members of a board that conducts ALL its discussions in Scots. You widnae staun a chance o bein unnerstood oan err, either.

No, I don't think you get to tell other members to "shut up".

Is anybody still discussing the tobacco licence or shall I close this thread?

I know the north of Scotland pretty well, and people do not speak like that up there. This is someone trying to write in Lallans as opposed to someone who can, and knows it well.

I'm getting a sense of deja vu here.....

Now, why on EARTH does the name Hugh keep entering my thoughts?

Clearly another language better talked about than known....

Oh, let us just give up on this thread now, people. The "KOSB" member is gone for now, for which many thanks to our beautiful and wondrous Babz. To have a serious discussion about cigarette tax, or about language, best start a new thread.

Closing this one now.
