Go and see the British embasse
or consolet in Ottawa or where ever you
live.
By the way, why would you immigrate
to Scotland?
It's usually the other way around??
Good LUCK

Shamrock,
If your parents or even one of them
is from Britain, you also have British
citizenship so it will make it easier
for you to immigrate.
OR if you come from a commonweath country?
EH? Isn't Canada a commonweath country Eh?
Well, if your serious-get a move on.
It takes a while, but it will happen.
Where do you plan to leave?
I'm from Scotland, Ive lived in Canada
for 45 years, now I live in California
these last 5 months.
I LOVE ALL MY COUNTRY'S.
Let us know how you make out?
CHEERS

FIONA

Thank-you all for responding
My grandfather came to canada from county cavan ireland my parents were both born in canada back a few generations more i have scots in my family my 10 year old son plays the pipes and i have always had an interest in scotland, it's people and the traditions. canada is not what it was like when i was growing up i am 33 now the country has changed so much and the government policies now in affect only assist those who immigrate here those of us who were born here are taxed almost to death to support those that come here from another country we have a lot of people that live below the poverty line, children going to bed hungry at night, homelees freezing to death on the street and our government sends billions of dollars a year to foreign countries i am a single mother with 2 boys that are 10 and 15 and i have to work 2 jobs to make enough to keep them fed and housed i drive a dump truck 12 hours a day 5 days a week and on the week-ends i cook in a restaurant i have no ties here except my mom who is 5 hours drive from me i have had enough of the garbage this government hands to it's people and expect us to put up with it i am currently chatting with a few people in scotland and ireland on the icq program and from what i have learned so far, scotland seems like a much better place then canada to be i welcome your feedback and look forward to hearing from you again i hope i have explained why i want to live there so you understand
All The Best
Joanne

Hi, Joanne.
I'm Paula and I live in Canada, too. I am also alarmed at our immigration policies and quite frankly I can't help wondering what the heck are they all thinking up there on Parliament Hill? Our city of London, Ontario has seen a huge jump in immigrants and as a result our crime rate has increased 4-fold in the last few years. My husband and I have 2 small children and we are very worried. Please don't get me wrong. I speak 3 languages myself and enjoy people of all races, and religions but when there is such a noticeable connection between the population increase and the rise in crime and when you can read and see who the people are getting charged it can't be overlooked.
My husband is self-employed in the heating and air-conditioning business and I work as a scheduler for a credit card centre. What would the employment chances be for us in Scotland? My husband is a Cameron and I am a Menzies and we have both lots of roots in the Weem county area east of Fort William. Fiona, I love your name. My daughter has a doll with beautiful red hair whom she named "Fiona". Gillian is now 4yr old and Colin is now 7yr old. Joanne, what you were saying hit so close to home for me, I wanted to let you know. Fiona, how long ago did you live in Scotland? (I am new at this bulletin board thing, so bear with me if I make any errors...)
