Indeed same old, same old.

One slight problem with the IRA issue. The only parts of the UK that the IRA goes for are the Six Counties in North East Ireland, and England. They don't bomb in Scotland, because Scotland is considered to be a Celtic country (do. Wales, and maybe Cornwall, not sure about the latter) by the IRA. On that score they are right. Scotland is an annexed territory, just like the rest of Ireland once was.

But of course, us all being jolly good old "Brits", we all had our insurance premiums raised after IRA attacks in England. Now, I consider those attacks in Manchester etc immoral, particularly as they targetted civilians, but I also know that we shouldn't have had to pay for what wasn't going to occur here. After all, English insurance premiums never went up when NI ones did.

Terrorists will never defeat the United States, but neither will the United States defeat terrorism by military means. It's time to learn from the mistakes of the past rather than blindly repeating them. It's time to jaw-jaw.
This concise and truthful summation by Neil of the futility of kill-kill solutions says it well. Those who keep advocating kill-kill crap are ignorant of history. They are. And want some kind of 'glory' in innocent civilian unnecessary deaths. There is no glory in death, war and destruction. Just a trail of tears and money burned in trying to cope with the destruction.
