Smile Weather

I have a question. I have been to Scotland once and the weather was great.. How does the weather there differ right now from the states or is it different..

Weather in Scotland

Northern hemisphere, generally akin to the temps and weather in our New England, Upper Midwestern and to some extent upper Northwestern climates this time of year. Deferring to Scots members, it's my understanding that November brings clouds, rain, sleet, snow, hail and the occasional sunny skies, but damp and chilly temps. . . likely below 50 degrees F during the days and 20-30 F at night. Because of the warmer gulf stream waters, Scotland's western seaboard doesn't frost over as bad as say Connecticut or Minnesota. But they nonetheless wear a lot of layers and woolens . . . or at least that's my impression from family/friends who live there.

It depends where you live in Scotland. The west coast is slightly warmer due to the influence of the gulf stream in fact in the north west there are areas where palm trees grow albeit a hybrid variety that was cultivated to survive in a colder climate. The east coast tends to be colder and is subject to fogs from the north sea called haar. If I had to sum up the Scottish climate I'd say it was generally wet and windy.

Thumbs up

Does anyone know the weather forecast in Fife,Scotland for this week or even the rest of February. I'm hoping there won't be any snow or a minimum amount at least. I shall be coming up from England for a short stay.

Trying to forecast Scotland's weather for just one day is difficult -longer than that is almost impossible!
A quick google shows lots of sites for weather with the Kingdom of Fife - but it's a big area so there are specific town sites, too. Here's a generic 'Fife' one
FifeWeather.co.uk - Fife Forecast
