Questions About Scotland

Hi
I don't know if I'm in the right part of the forum, but i don't know where to post.
I must find out a few things about Scotland for my English homework:
1. What is school like in Scotland?
2. What food do you usually eat?
3. Do you go to Scottish festivals?
4. What are you like?
5. Do you really drink so much whiskey?
6. Do Scots wear something beneath their kilts?
7. What do you do in your free time?
8. What music are you listening to?
9. What does your typical day look like?

Can you help me please? I would look up all these things by myself, but I have to print out this conversation.
Thanks in advance

And, btw, ScoTland is usually written with only the one 't'.

I come from Lewis in the Western Isles and only too glad to help

1. What is school like in Scotland?..........Great big buildings full of classrooms which we were forced to attend daily from the age of 5 to 16, where a teacher sits or stands at the front in front of a big blackboard teaching horrible things like English and beating us verbally if not physically if we are not attentive

2. What food do you usually eat?........Haggis, meat, vegetables, fish. We have big supermarkets now where we can get food in boxes. All sorts of foreign muck from Chinese to McDonald’s to Yorkshire Puddings.

3. Do you go to Scottish festivals?.......Festivals, games, the very thing. The Church, especially the Wee Frees, frown on any such pagan activities so between them and the tourists we have to be careful.

4. What are you like?.....I have been told more than once that I defy description, the family destroy any photos with me in them, for legal reasons they say.

5. Do you really drink so much whiskey?...............Most days but with water in sometimes. Nobody has been able to define “so much” By the time we get to that stage we are non compos mentis so we have to start again the next day.

6. Do Scots wear something beneath their kilts?...... As for myself I am fair worn out.

7. What do you do in your free time?.............Plot and prepare for the next uprising. We do what we can to avoid the worst excesses of this evil English Conservative government

8. What music are you listening to?.......The music of the Pipes, Will Ye No Come Back Again and Lochaber No More. Sometimes we listen to all those strange sounds on the wireless. Its all the rage down south they say. Personally I don’t think it will catch on.

9. What does your typical day look like?.......It’s dark in the morning before the sun rises except in the summer when it’s daylight when we come round. Then at night it gets dark again.

What country are you from yourself? Are you from overseas, Skye perhaps?

And btw, Scotland does not usually have a capital T unless of course you use capitals for all the letters.

Please do not assume that all of Scotland’s schools are like those of Edinburgh where they don’t seem to be able to write their own nation’s name properly.
