What is the cost of a used record album?

My partner and I sell vinyl records. About half of our international sales go to the UK, and 25% of those got to Scotland. That's a big percentage for one country.

I find this interesting. Obviously from the amount of great music that has poured forth from over yonder, Scots love music.

I'm curious what makes a seemingly ordinary record worth paying hefty international shipping. Are used records expensive?

I'm in my forties and I think most Scots my age will still keep a collection of vinyl records. I don't know why they have remained popular - I suspect it's just nostalgia. You have 12 inch singles, coloured vinyl, record sleeves with imaginitive and iconic artwork- they just seem to have a character that CDs don't have and I could never bring myself to dump my record collection even if I very rarely listen to them nowadays.

Absolutely. A shelf of records adds something to a room the way that books do. CDs in plastic cases are somehow colder.

There is also the wonderful sound of a needle on a record. My record collection is not large at all, but certain LPs just sound better than the CD version.

Tubular Bells is one that comes to mind. Also, the CD launches right into Side 2, without allowing you to bask in the afterglow. That's just wrong.

records V C.D,s.

I'm Australian, living in Australia and I have just aquired a record collection , the sound of a record is so different to C,D,s because the C.D, has been processed so many times that all the personality has been washed of, so to speak. I am 55 and have had the oppatinity to listen to both, I pick Records every timee. I am toying with the idea of selling some, what is the app. price of a used record these days?

i think the reason people are willing to pay the shipping is that the records will be rare and or unavailable over here.
