Acc:Kilts!

Sorry to bother you guys again but none of you would happen to know where one can find a kilt in Edinburgh? Are there designated shops for this kind of traditional gear, or is it possible to scope one out at let's say H&M (Top Shop equivalent) in Scotland?
Also, what would be the average price for a kilt?

Million thanks aye

Where to buy a kilt in Edinburgh? Well male kilts (the only 'real' ones) are available at places like Hector Russell..... but there are plenty of cheap ones in the toot n tatt shops on the Royal Mile. The tartans are often what we call 'Hong Kong' (ie not real ones) - but they are cheap.

The idea of being able to 'scope one out' at the equivalent of TopShop - yer huvvin a laff, ur ye no'?

Polswarth dear...

Thank you for your fast reply. Hector Russell sounds nice! Do they only sell male kilts and if so, are balls a purching requirement?

Well Polly, I don't know about Top Shop, but I'll have you know that H&M is the most prestigous cheap shop in the whole of Sweden (traditional Chinamade clogs included)

I would expect you want a skirt for yourself, or are you looking to deck out a dude? You can't sling a dead cat in Edinburgh without launching it into a woolen mill or other type of store where you can get one!

(One does wonder what Tartan the Martians have. . . )

The idea of the Martians adopting native dress? Kathy, that's FRIGHTENING

Methinks wur Scandinavian OP is a troll? Especially if she (for that is what we were led to believe) cannae tell the difference atween Male Scots attire and that worn by the female. Think ornithology - think boring females, braw males...

Nono, I'm looking for a kilt for myself (I'm also doing a project on it, that's why I asked). And, I've booked an interview with a salesman at Hector Russell so thanks to the tipper

And dearest MOST estimated Polwarth, You do know troll is originally a Germanic/Scandinavian word for a supernatural creature with a hunchback btw? (much like a Swedish version of Loch Ness) And, if I were able to tell the difference, I wouldn't be asking you for information now would I?

"think boring females, braw males..." will do will do

MySpace.com - the_cube - 23 - Female - Stockholm, Stockholms län - www.myspace.com/purple_cube Well, decide for yourself, but I think I'm no more of a troll than you are deary^^
