I think it's phishing! I didn't get one and anyway, yahoo should be able to track use or non use of an account much like hotmail does and tell if there is activity or not. You shouldn't send them any personal info such as passwords or anything. They don't need that from you to maintain their site!

With your user name and password the phishers can access whatever is in there about you and use your id other places.

Delete it or report it as spam to the site.

Do you really have to ask?
Apart from the fact that any e-mail asking for a password is bound to be fake - the English is well dodgy in places and the whole thing is too long-winded (a bit like me!). Not merely spam, as kathyv says it's phishing.

It takes me all my time to remember passwords so I would never give them to someone else !!

Glad you didn't fall for it, Babz.

Actually, this thread made me think of going to have a look at my Yahoo mailbox, which is indeed hardly ever used now. This had the benefit of proving that if they are going to close an account for lack of activity (unused for 4 months), well, like Hotmail, they just quietly close it, and then a click or two reactivates it.

So, I don't *think* anyone would fall for this, but there you are, proof if anyone needs it that these emails are just phishing and are to be ignored.

I think I might go and send e-mails from Yahoo just to pretend I've got friends.

Did you report it as spam?

I've been getting something supposedly from Federal Express, that says it's 'holding' an important document in their safe warehouse in Nairobi, Africa. They can't deliver until I give them bank account info, my shoe size, what brand of shampoo I use, blood type, favorite drink, etc etc etc. . . I contacted FedEx and they knew about the scam, then gave me a real address where I can forward the sneaky stuff, they are trying to get it stopped. It's illegal for spammers to use a real business. I wonder if yahoo has the same kind of plan?
