Not really, but I suspect it's because I am not insane.

Edited to Add: This was in reply to BICRE's cryptic comment:
"When considering the problem of Institutional Racism we also have to consider and question our definition of sanity.

Does that make sense?"

Is it possible for you to start making sense?
If it is possible, could you start doing it from
your next post onwards?

Thankyou.

Here, Babz, I've just had a (rare) thought...

Why not make a "Nutters post here" thread?

Craig, a long time ago I told this forum that in terms of the history of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England I am not an expert by any means. I have read a book on Scottish history and studied the vocabulary, but thinking on my daily life I have never had some real conversations with people from that part of the world where you see their face and get to know what it is all really about. The next best thing is to come here and have Ms. Babz point it out to you ( I did not have a clue what Yorkshire pudding was made of either). I learned something new. I learned something new with Mr. Scottish Economist and so many others. I like that, and if it means my 'stumbling' or making errors that is fine. I never claimed to be an expert on the UK. There is enough intrigue, screaming and carrying on amongst the Latin Americans to keep me busy forever. Most of my time and effort has been put into studying different Native American cultures, African cultures and the histories of the Romance language European countries such as Spain, France and Italy and Portugal. Also the United States' history. One of the reasons I joined VCI in the first place was to join my own country's website and speak about cultural things there. I joined SouthAfrica.com and many others as well. I did not know much about SouthAfrican internal problems either. I got enlightened though....lol.

My attention to detail? How many do you know from the USA who know the difference between British and English? I can tell you right now. Most don't have a clue either. Lol. I aint alone in being iggnerent. But, I got enlightened. That is the job of the true Scots on this website...enlighten all these iggnerent foreigners about what being Scottish is about and what the differences are between myths and reality. I am confident you Scottish posters who live there can do the job well.

By implying that British and English are synonomous you imply that the Scots, Welsh etc are english ! Youre cruising for a bruising haha but dont worry nothing to feel guilty about - its how we learn . But its not just a little semantic error it fails to take account of centuries of history, war etc etc
Britain was British before the English got here. Its probably a very old Celtic term perhaps from the Welsh Prydein . If you read some history books about this little island you will read many acccounts of the English fighting the British ! Then of course the English became part of Britain - but Britain really is a very old term with old roots.
Anyway back later with more - you keep going girl haha
