Question internet TV service question

Good Morning All. Hope you can give me some advise. I live in America and my wee Mum still lives in Scotland. I would really love to get her set up so she could get email and pictures. I was thinking of some kind of internet TV. I saw some bad comments about Bush TV. What are your thoughts on that product. Is there any other system you would recommend? Thanks

Hello, ticketyboo, and welcome.

Re. the internet via T.V., do I take it that it's already a very settled thing that your mum is just NOT going to want to deal with a computer? (Not being snarky, 'cos my own mum won't touch a computer).

I don't know anything about Bush TV but it sounds as though you have already looked at that at don't like it.

NTL offers internet via TV for £7.50 per month ntl:home | Internet via TV - No Computer Needed! UK Broadband ISP

OR the Amstrad e-mailer thing might work Amstrad E3 E-m@iler Superphone

Wouldn't a mobile 'phone help? Although I suppose she would only get tiny wee pictures.

I doubt if internet-enabled TVs can be configured to accept webcams etc.

Get her a laptop with integrated webcam. That'll to the trick.

The suggestion by Scotsgait is an excellent one, myself and my family who are spread around the world all use laptops with intergrated webcams.
Perhaps your Mum could be persuaded to try one, I am sure she would love it.
