So when this Edwards fellow says a space elevator could be used to get people to other planets, exactly which geosyncronous planets is he considering?
And realistically, with the frightening number of satellites there are in orbit and all the space debris, do we have the technology to move such a massive structure so quickly and so often as to avoid a collision? If one of these is in existense in 30 years, never mind 15, I will be very surprised. |
