Following the discussion on Hawking, I'm curious as to who we would put in the all-time greats. I've left the opening message blank to allow us to keep a running list so here's some names for starters:

William Thomson (Lord Kelvin)
Richard Feynmann
James Clark Maxwell
Enrico Fermi
Isaac Newton
Robert Hooke
Wolfgang Pauli
Paul Dirac

Alexander Fleming

I've left out people who I see more as engineers - e.g Edison. Might start a list of them later.
