Such-is-life,
I think any number of historical figures could be identified as the antichrist, however in my opinion the Roman emperor Nero best fits the bill.Christians were mercilessly persecuted during his reign and such was his hatred of christianity that he had christians used as human torches in his royal gardens.I think the term 'antichrist'may not necessarilly refer to an individual but rather an ideology or alternative religion which was fundamentally opposed to christian beliefs. |

Hi Andy_J,
I have heard Christians talking about "the coming of the Antichrist" (i think they base it on Daniel chapter 7, not sure though). They say that they believe the EU is the resurrected Roman Empire and hence the EU is aspiring to World Domination and that one of its leaders in the future will be THE Antichrist. Presumably this is when Jesus comes back and kills him and thse who dont have "the mark" go to heaven to live happily ever after. They base this prediction specifically on the dream Nebuchanedzer (sp.)had of the Statue which i wont go into just no. Anyway they are completely sure that the Antichrist wil be the leader of the Resurrected Roman Empire. I wonder if there are any power struggles in Romania just now? |
