Hay such-is-life, having read the above comments, I think a new religion would be a great idea. There was a lot of spam mail going around trying to get everyone to write jedi down on the sensus as their religion. Maybe thats a place to start....
With regards to marilyn manson, I have to admit I also agree with you there such-is-life. I myself don't like his music, think he looks extremely weird and does a lot of disturbing things, ON STAGE. My brother however, who has somewhat different tastes in music forced me to look at mansons biography(or was it an auto) after which as a scholar and a critic couldn't help but admit there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. I still don't like his music though. Is it true that he's an honorary priest? Can we call him father(I know someone will correct me on that)

Mr.Chisholm,
I agree that the census might be a place to start, hence my reason for mentioning the date 2011 and i do know of people who did put jedi down. I believe it requires 10,000 people to be recognised as a religion. However, if i was to seriously start a religion i would focus on the positive points which might attract people rather than the "overthrow of christianity" and i would also leave out the references to satanism. With regards to Mr.Manson, i do believe he is a/the minister of the Church of Satan. However i do not know if this is a title only or he actually has an active role. I must say that i admire your attitude towards Mr.Manson as i do not know of many people who do not like him (or his music) that still respect his intelligence. Concerning his bands antics on stage, i can really only comment on the one time i have seen them (marilyn manson). I can honestly say that they did not do anything 'out of the ordinary' ie. sex acts et al. But having said that, i am aware that Mr.Manson has admitted to doing these "antics" in the past and certainly backstage. It was seemingly a favourite past-time of the christian church to make up ridiculous stories regarding Mr.Manson and his band, so don't believe everything you hear about him. Thank you. |

First of all, please call me Angus, or Gus. Mr Chisholm makes me feel old.
Secondly, I'm sure you'll all agree a little rebellion is good for the soul. If we started out as a new religion, our aim would not be to overthrough any other religion, but it wouldn't be our fault for "enlightening" the flocks and letting them believe in a new truth.
