This present strain is extremely virulent and it originated in the middle east.It has nothing to do with God.Diseases like everything else on this planet are subject to the law of cause and effect. They are not created by God.

I really don't think God would be punishing us with this... it's just a very unfortunate thing that's happening. But it's not the first time we've ever seen foot and mouth disease.

Question What is your question?

Is it your contention that God is punishing humanity with FMD, or that He is punishing cows, sheep, etc.?

If the former, why cause the suffering, pain and death of hundreds of thousands of innocent animals? If the latter, what is it you think these poor creatures have done to merit such divine retribution?

What exactly is FMD supposed to be a sign of?

If this is not caused by God, then why does he not stop it?

If it is caused by God, why is He indicating ?

I think on that one you stumble onto the area known ass the problem of evil.

Basically the question is abiout how free God is to intervene in such issues. Where would you put the line between freewill and determinism. It would appear that God puts the line closer to frewill on this issue. (that is of course assuming that we know enough about the will of God to make reasonable comment
