"reap what you so". This is NOT Karma. This was the prevailing empirical wisom of the court schools of wisdom in ancient Israel. It is a similar idea to that of Karma. Though it is not based on any religious conviction. It is based on observation of the way that life works. What makes the Bible such a wonderful book is that it accepts this and also that there is anotherway to view these things-see the book of Job (of it's day it was the most developed piece of writing, way ahead of it's time. There was nothing that could compare to it's stucture and form until hundreds of years later. )

On the life after death issue, noone commented on last time it was mentioned that life after death is not an issue in the old testament. The hebrews religion was one that was wholly concerned with this life and relationship with God. Thje present beliefs in after life evolved during the intertestamental period with influences from Greek thinking.

If you take note of the words of Christ on the subject you will notice that he refers to the "kindom of God" rather than other figures of speech. For those who consider what this means there is debate whether these words should be construed to mean the eschatalogical kingdom or God's kingdom here on earth. Certainly one has to say that primarily he was concerned with the kingdom on earth. What is that kindom?

Why would God want to punish anyone who sins? Why would he want to reward anyone for adhering to the laws which he has created?I believe in a God which is all loving and all forgiving.Free will is the greatest gift which God gives to humans and having given free will it would be a great wrong to intervene in human existence. Thus I do not believe in a divine will which influences mankind's actions.Hell and heaven are not places which exist in the afterlife. If you cause pain in this life then your 'hell'will be a future reincarnation in which you will face the consequences of your actions. Some spirits which Buddhists term boddhisatvas deliberately choose to suffer in life in order to help others. In the period before you reincarnate you may exist in some form of afterlife. If you think you deserve to experience heavenly bliss then this is what I believe you will experience.Thought is everything.Materialism is the true illusion. But this will only be a fools paradise as true heaven can only be achieved when the trappings of materialism are discarded and the human spirit achieves a union with God.Not only do I believe in life after death I believe that many people have experienced life prior to this incarnation.Life is eternal and no one,no matter how wicked is beyond redemption.Free choice, not God's will governs all existence. All religions are conveying the same message.Everyone is involved in the same journey towards spiritual enlightenment regardless of whether they are muslim, christian or Jew.In Zen Bhuddhism there is a saying that'words are used to convey meaning. We should keep the meaning and forget the words.'When it comes to religion I think it is always wiser to search for the true message that is being conveyed rather than adhere to often misguided dogma.
