Sex and Christianity ??

Excuse me, am I wrong or did someone of you really say that Sodom and Gomorrha were destroyed cos of homosexuality?
Ok it's written down in the Old Testament, but then we could as well start living again like "an eye for an eye!"

You all chose as you want to. Some things from the Old Testament are not used any more, like an eye for an eye, cos it's old and cruel and whatever.
But if there is anything else in the Old testament that suits you and your opinion, then you use it!
Who are we all to decide what we use and what not?
What's bad is bad, what's old and cruel is old and cruel, but what is wonderful to emphasise a thesis is great and good?!



I don't know if you know that homosexuality is something that, of course, can be influenced by your upbringing and education and all, but this is more a kind of suppression.
Homosexuality is something you can see in the brain, for example of a gay. There are some differences that can be seen. And it's more or less determined from birth on.

So please tell me why God creates homosexuals and then wants them to be executed for committing a sin?

And WHY PLEASE should something as beautiful as sex be a sin? i don't understand this.

Ok i believe that it's wrong to have your first time with 14, and it's wrong to change partners like a pair of jeans.
BUT I don't think it is wrong to have unmarried sex if there is real love and trust and if the partners are sure they want to be together for a longer time.
Do you think it is better to marry and then have sex?
And then see you don't get along, get divorced and marry again?
No promiscuity, but kind of serial monogamy, huh?


(P.S. I thought that Sodom and Gomorrha did some worse things than homosexuality...what do you think where "Sodomy" comes from?)

Homosexuality was not the only reason for the destruction of Sodom and Gamorrah.

I don't know what you think, Mamie, but I don't know how something natural can be a "sin" (I don't like this word)?

The problem with Christianity is that too many good and natural needings are suppressed.
Ok maybe it's not Christianity itself but more the written stuff in the Bible, especially the old ones.

I don't judge, let someone be Christian if he/she wants to, let someone be hetero and have sex when she/he is married only, but when they start creating rules for everybody and believe that people who don't follow their rules will go to hell...then it's not something I can accept.

I believe that it's better to follow the own conscience, not a word, not rules, written down by humans who can make mistakes, and died about 2000 years ago... (I'm not talking about Jesus here, just in case anybody might feel offended by my words...I'm talking about everybody who did their bit to write the Bible...might be highly influenced by their time and by their own mind)

Anyway, all of you here, believe what you want to believe in, live as you want to live, but please, if you want to create rules, do it for yourself, not for everybody else.
You don't all wear the same clothes and eat the same food, do you?
And you don't create a rule against blue sweaters just cos you like red ones and hate blue?
