`You shall indeed hear but never understand,
and you shall indeed see but never perceive.
For this people's heart has grown dull,
and their ears are heavy with hearing,
and their eyes have been closed.
Lest they should perceive with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their heart, and turn for
me to heal them.'
- Jesus Christ
(Matthew 13:14-15)

I agree.Anybody can quote scriptures but whether they possess the insight to understand their true meaning is another question.Nothing has done more to turn me away from religion than seeing the irrational and blinkered way in which many christians adhere to fundamentalist religious dogma.

Wink Jesus Stands Corrected

Good thing God sent Nonson and Andy J to correct the words of Jesus; where would the truth be without them? Hay believers everywhere, you can look for another God, Nonson and Andy J have determined that the words of God are no longer relavent for modern man! Great job guys in rebuking God in the flesh, I'm sure He's very impressed with your critcism of His message!

It's time for Non-son and andy-J to change their names to
non-sense and led-astry!

Congradulations. You both just made another prayer list.

Oh, I should imagine that the hay believers (sic) are quite happy as they are. This might be one of them.

Oh dear!Cynicism and bitterness from one so pious? Why is it that some christians so quickly resort to trading insults instead of engaging in rational discussions.Perhaps they realise their position is indefensible?By the way I admire the 'humour'.Your such a shining wit(as Doctor Spooner might say).I should point out that I have the greatest respect for the vast majority of christians and their views.
What I find almost nauseating however are bible-bashing fundamentalists who have the pretensiousness to think that they know it all.

Wink Dearest nonson and Andy J

I'm sorry if my wit was perceived as an opportunity to avoid exchanging on the intellectual high ground, nothing could be further from the truth. In person you would have laughed at my spin on you names, but clearly the humor did not survive to journey from here to there. Perhaps when I'm not working sixty hours a week, going to seminary full time, playing soldier in the National Guard, and making time for my wife and four kids, I would have more time and calories to dedicate to fallacy-proof debates on the level we are all capable of. Until I get some breathing room, don't be so sensitive; I'm working on it. Talk to ya soon.

Minister.
Like you I have a busy life but at some point in the future I would welcome an opportunity to exchange views and discuss this subject in greater depth.
Andy.
