You really work hard at what you !

Peter,
Most of us fundies(I like that!) believe our God is sovereign--he rules he can do what he wants---using people for his divine purposes. He is a God of love and many more
attributes---yes, some that are not "feel goods". I have felt his wrath for disobedience, but more importantly the love and peace of his forgiveness. I was an orphaned child and God responded to my prayers. Iam now married, a mother of four, a college graduate working on my masters. I have been on both sides of God--with and with out. Yoy seem to fight hard to take your stance. Jump in on our side---the little childrens--"the yoke is easy" and piece abides in the storm--there is a freedom in death and in life with Jesus Christ.
Fairy tales? Myths? My prayers. are answered many times by my heavenly father. Look out, friend. God bless.

Smile relationship or theory?

'Taste and see that the Lord is good...'(Ps34:8) If you know God personally then you'll know he is honest and caring if you dont you wont, pretty simple when you think about it really.

'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.' (Mt7:7-8)

I have found this to be true.

Kindly refrain from rude, insulting behaviour. Treat others with the same respect you would expect from them. Harrasssment and insults are not welcome.

Satan- he's certainly an interesting biblical character. Unfortunately the fudie (as they have been dubbed here) view of who he is is not sustainable when the bible is analysed.

As I am sure I have mentioned previously the bible was written in a process, different parts at different times reflecting different socio-religious beliefs.

Satan-in hebrew- means adversary. And in beginning he is not a demon angel but a character who tests the rihteousness and holiness of God and his followers. Gradually he assumed a personality particularilly in the intertestamental times where greek ideas permeated the known world.

This lead to him being a charaterisation of evil and where he abides been the place of suffering (ie the fruit of evil). It is interesting to note that is also during and after this time that the concept of eternal life after death appears. In the hebrew bible the concept of life after death is notable by it's absence.

Is it during this period that the Jewish concept of heaven developed alongside Greek ideas?(christianity and christians considered themselves Jewish until after the council of Jamnia (AD67 I think) Note that evidence from St pauls (as with much NT material)letters is nearly insubmitable to the contrary as he delibiberatly assumes Greek forms of rhetoric as he is speaking to gentiles. There is exteme use of metaphor and characterisation according to the Greek intelectual paradigm and the audience adressed.

Thank you for now informing me, Neil. And thank you, Admin, too. Nonson, you really had me going there, LOL. You just love doing things to see my reaction, don't you.
