Thank's for the reply and advice
Getting to know God is something that I try to do on a continual basis and have had reasonable success although it is a relationship / journey that you never actually get to a point of being able to say that you have arrived.
Sadly some think that even when they have developed a relationship with God to the point that I have that they have arrived -especially us Born Again Christians.

I believe that the reason for our existance is to glorify & exalt God the Father.

Have a great day,
Gordon.

I don't believe that it is un-Christian of me to put up a question like this.
My intentions were not absolutly pure, I was hoping that it would create discussion as it would be interesting to hear what others thought. We are never too old to learn.
To answer your questions:

My question was partially tongue in cheek.

I would love to be able to read the Old Testament in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek but alas I have only read the Scriptures in English.
I am forced to use other peoples interpretations and trust that they have been inspired by God.

My interpretation of - omnipresent would be -present in all places at all times.
as omnipotent would be unlimited power (the Almighty)
I do not remember having seen the word "omnipresent" in the Scriptures, this being more my way of looking at God through general Scripture.
Lets hear some of these logical ramose beliefs - I'll fasten my seatbelt.

My understanding of "ora et labora" in my humble opinion with limited scholastic success would directly translate as "vocal and works" or words and deeds or to stretch it even further faith without deeds. Looking at that from a biblical opinion (mine that is) would be covered in James 2:14-26.

I am open to correction so please feel free to correct me or give me your interpretation or mis-interpretation.

God in His wisdom did not feel that it would necessary to make me a professor or doctor of theology or languages for that matter.

As always.
Yours in faith

Hi Nonson...
Hmmm, where was god before he made the heavens...
Well, as we know, there is only a fixed amount of matter in our universe... so weīve got a big bunch of atoms, right ?
In the "Big Bang" it all began to spread out into... ??
And if we go in the space between the atoms... whats there ?
The easy answer would be: nothing...
But if thereīs nothing between the atoms... how comes they donīt fill everything ???
So god had LOTS of space to stay while he made the heavens... didnīt he ?

Hahaha...
Nonson, you triggered my trap...
Okay, we got this space filled not with "nothing" but with "nothingness".
In fact there is more "nothingness" than anything else in our universe... The same nothingness that was there before the Big Bang...
So god had plenty of space, didnīt he ?
And you canīt even contradict easily, because it was you who made the difference between "nothing" (No space where god could have been) and "nothingness" (Which is, per definition endless and omnipresent...)

Now Iīm waiting for your answer...
Dirk

Where does God live?

Hello everyone, I thought Imight join your little discussion.

If you think about it the idea of a place to live before the big bang is rediculous. The speck that exploded to becone the universe was supposed to be "infinitely dense" (S. Hawking) There was no space between atoms or other wise.

Also there was no time either as if itwas infinitely dense then it would have all the properties of a black hole and thefor no time.

Thus God he would no longer be in any relation to time in which he could be said to live.
