Sonsie,
It started as somewhat of a joke, much like your opening arguments. I thought all the athiests who couldn't trouble themselves with Christianity were changing threads? There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Did you read all of my responses? Anyway, you've been gone from this message for a long time to come back firing, don't you think. What happened to Willy? Or my good friend Silas? Sonsie, why don't you quote some of my other responses? I'm sorry I "ruined" your thread. Noone was responding and it looked like it was going to die, I simply put some fire in it. The all consuming fire of God. Just wondering, in the intersest of science and proving a point, does anyone want to take any guesses of me personally. If you can judge me by my words, maybe you would be suprised to find out some things about me. I would like to hear your estimation of who and what I am, age, look, etc. Just for fun, although I may be able to prove a point.
For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

The arrow is for moving on.
MB,
It is kind of sad that you want to show that everyone has prejudices against you , like you are being persecuted. Why are you so eager to find out what our conception of you is? To me, you could be anything from a Harley riding (no Hell's Angel, mind you, ;-) ) gun totin' skynyrd fan to a activist for human rights. And lots of things in between. I don't think there is any preconception that evangelist Christians have to fit a mold. But it seems like you want us to say something like, "book burning, anti-Semitic conservatives who carry signs like 'abortion kills babies' and 'fags kill nations.'"
So enlighten us.
Also, Sonsie was merely responding to some things you wrote, I didn't know there was a time limit on that. But you really probably should have started a Christ-based thread if that was what you wanted to talk about. Sonsie is trying to get Atheists to "come out," as it were, on Scotland.com. You have been very vocal about your beliefs, she is trying to invoke less vocal non-believers, just to see who they are, not to start a revolution.
Sonsie, thanks for the plug for "Sartre, etc..."
And now I am truly moving on.
If anyone is looking for me that's where I'll be.

However, i now feel that maybe i should have just said it to him privately, rather than on this public forum... i'll go back and delete it so that it doesnt cause any more "ouches" for MB or anyone else.... except, erm... Jinmich, now it's immortalised as a quote in your post!

To Everyone at Scotland.com,
I am retiring from the discussion forum for the time being. I have become addicted and serve no Kingdom purpose by contiuing some squabble. I do pray that you all consider what I have said, and keep an open heart and mind for Jesus Christ. My intentions were to do my duty and spread the message and his love, this doing, I will depart. This is not a bitter letter, for I have enjoyed these discussions. But the words of man prove ultimately futile. The words of God endure forever. Thank you supporters and Christians out there, Silas and I will both be leaving. The pair of us are planning a trip to Scotland next summer, so lock your doors, and keep your unsaved indoors. I was going to show that I was not some stuffy old man with wavy hair preaching fire and brimstone. I am not, I doubt very much that too many will care for me to unmask myself, so I won't do so now. I love Jesus Christ, and I love Scotland. I pray you all well, and will remember you when I go to God daily. The Kingdom of Heaven is upon us, and I ask all of you to remember the story of Noah. It is hard to believe in a flood when it hasn't rained.
Praying you collect your raincoat before the storm,
Most graciously,
Brandon Bond

I suppose this was meant to be humorous, but I cringed when I read this. Whether or not you agree with another's religious viewpoint, you should at least respect their rights. I interpreted this as poking fun at MB and others who believe in Jesus.

Brandon,

I truely hope you stay on here and post when you have time..I have read your responses and i think you mean what you say at to the love of christ and I am sorry if anyone made you feel that your viewwpoint was useless. We all have our beleifs and we each have our own path to walk to God. We may not have the same beleifs , but we do believe in God the almighty.

Poking fun at someones beleife is wrong..i cant see the point in making fun of Jesus Christ. He died for us all.

Again Brandon, I would hope that you will stay on here even if it is periodically(sp?)

Evie

Okay, I lied. I said I was going away, but I was too curious to know what was going on here. I just had an opportunity to look at the link Sonsie posted. I don't think it is infringing on anyone's rights to post that. She was appealing to my sense of humor, which she is familiar with. Did everyone see the link I had posted last week? It was for a personals ad by a man calling himself Jesus and he had the domain Jesus.com. I, and very likely Sonsie, believe that everyone has the right to believe or not believe whatever they want. It isn't going against anyone's rights to offer up a humorous (of course in the eye of this beholder) site that pokes fun at Christianity. If there were 500 links making fun of Atheists listed here, I might or might not check them out, and have no problems with it.
I think a sad thing happened here. No one was able to take a joke, or loosen their grip on their beliefs systems. It's too bad. Wouldn't it have been nice if it had been a little nudging and fun instead of hurt feelings and mass exodus? (No pun intended, seriously.) Maybe it's better that there is now a seperate thread solely about the philosophies surrounding non-belief. I hate to think that, especially because in my every day life I know many Christians and we all get along just fine. But maybe we just don't discuss religion. It's the same with any controversial topic, the pros and the antis instinctively face off and intelligent discussion turns to outbursts and overreaction on both sides.
Hoping we can get over this,
A
