hi.
In denmark a wiccan is very misundetstood. A pentacle is usually thord of as being a tool , or a symbol of the devil, people haven't gotten over the middle-ages yet , i find that sad , because there is so much beutyfull in "witchcraft".There is often just as many misinterpretations as there is people.! When i say witch, people say dances with the devil in the moonlight , and drinks goat-blood. There are also the kind of people who want to be that way , and claim that they are witches, while wearing huge pentacles, painting their face black, and worship satan. In my experience they souldn't be more off-base , and i can't help laughing gently at those people.
The thing that fascisnates me most about paganism, is the way they encourage to follow your own path, and not to interfeer with nature, i find it beutyfull, unfortunantly, a lot of people don't, due to their ignorance and condemning nature.
Maria.

Talking

Its so nice to see you all....where to start.
Becca you are right on as well as SweetOne I couldn't agree more. I was raised with no religion and later in life I felt really out of place. Being baptized Catholic I figured that is where I belong....How wrong I was, I found it mostly to be very irresponsible as far as family values and planning and hypocritical. There is more rules than religious value to me in the Catholic religion. I have been blessed to have and Aunt who has opened my mind and heart to the craft she is a practicing witch and is on her way to being a High Priestess I admire her most for having the courage to be who she really is...and truthfully I am totally into paganism it is the only thing that makes sense to me.
I am surprised however...in a culture born on Celtic and Druid "magic" that they shun you so much..Basic paganism is the base religion...it was here before everything else..But unfortunately people fear what they do not know. And in todays society commercialism, movies and rag newspapers incite the fear.
I am glad to have found some wonderful people of which I hope I can share and learn from.
looking forward to hearing from you

Blessed Be!
