In the flesh.
So ya, though ya
might like to go to the show
to feel the warm breeze of confusion
that space cadet glow
i've got some bad for you sunshine
pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel
and they sent us along as a surrrogate band
and we're going to find out where you fans really stand
Are there any queers in the theatre tonight
put 'em up against the wall
there's one in the spotlight
he don't look right to me
get him up against the wall
that one looks jewish
and that one's a coon
who let all this riff raff into the room
there's one smoking a joint
and another with spots
if i had my way
i'd have all of you shot.!!!

.................Pink floyd , the wall
( just a little note to what i allready wrote.)

Hiya.
Actyally it seems as if the only person i gave sómething to think about was myself. What else is new??I'm really good at that.
Well, listhening to Pink floyd, the wall, always gives me a special feeling, defenetly also because i have listhened to this music for ages , and it brings back certain memories, including the smell of someone i used to know, and how i used to feel. Strange, but another good reason for listhening to this music a couple of ages more.
What i really wanted to discuss was condemnation, not only because of the little thingy with nonson , but i am in general appauled with the very little respact people show each other. I am not exactly no mother Theresa, and surely i condemn and judge people everyday, by their looks , their smell, their (danish:-)) vocabulary, the way they move, and so on, and surely i have often felt the urge to shut someone up.
you may even consider this as a condemnation of you, or people in general. And as i am included in "people in general" i may even be accusing myself. but is there a better way to start than with oneself.
The thing i'm after is the dubbel moral standards that so many seem to be practising.
I mean ,take the death sentence, if you kill someone, the state kills you. What kind of signal does that send me, ?that the state is no better than the man who pulled the trigger. Are we really living in year 2000, i find it hard to believe at times, with this middle age prosecution-ish thing.
And the chraistians , who preach that god loves everyone, and that they forgive and love everyone, but surely it is allowed to make an exception, starting with gay people.!!!!how is that possible.?
It is often that the people who want to be forgiving and downtoearth , are not so at all, some people cannot bear to hear another´person utter their menanings if it is not their own idea of truth. I resent that very much.
if you can't bear to hear another person's truth, than don't ask , and that is what you are doing by writing this site in as an discution forum, surely there must be room fore everyone who has something to say.
Or bloody close it down."!
I am tired of all these everso understanding people, who put up the perfect , yes-i-am-listhening-to-anything-you-have-to say-hon, and afterwards i'll say something really nice , stating that i am a good person, with a clean mind and i'll give you a smile,. or a sub-title saying, love is everything, or peace8sorry Nonson, i know you can stand an attack.)or don't bloody drink and drive!!!
Say what you think, not what you oughta be thinking, that's what Nonson did, and i cannot help myself from having respect fore that.
So go ahead , attack me, judge me, i can't wait.:-)
mARIA.

Very well said! I applaud your saying it. I never read the nonson stuff, got here too late I guess.

The state sends more than one message (if you are paying attention) when it executes a convicted murderer, tho. I'm wondering how those who disbelieve in capitol punishment would truly feel if it were THEIR daughter, son, mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend who was murdered. No one ever tells me that, TRUTHFULLY, unless, of course, they have been there, done that. Those who have not had a loved one murdered have no way of knowing how they will feel when the murderer is brought to trial. Nor when they are convicted to imprisonment, which many times means OUT of prison in time.
Free speech being what it is, i know i've offended someone, somewhere on this issue. It wasn't my intention, but it is a consequence i'll accept beforehand just so i can say it.

Again....i applaud you saying what you did.

what the hell happened, did someone just send my post reply for me.?????i didn't quite finish.
i meant to say that i would like to hear more from you concerning any topic.
About the insult-thing, offcourse people insult each other , if they didn't they would not be honest , people are different , and therefore with different opinions, if you can discuss things without calling each other foolish names, or hidding the other one on the head with an over-size hammer , then i don't see the problem . But , as with all other things, exceptions has to be made, i find it hard to see an eye to eye with prosecuting christians , or neo-nazi's.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Love Liv

Liv,

You addressed some very valid issues in your post. I don't agree with each of them, but I understand each of your concerns.

Eighteen months ago, my friend's 17 year old daughter was raped and murdered by a friend. This 21 year old man waited in the house for the 14 year old sister to get home from school. He did the same thing to her...stabbed her 32 times, cut her throat 4 times and, of course, raped her. But, she lived. And she told. Last May, in Manassas, Virginia....he was given the death penalty. Sane animals like this do not deserve to live and repeat the crime again.

Had he been given LIFE....he would have a chance to repeat the crime. He has no chance now. Someone else's daughter is free to live, because this man will die.

How fortunate for others that she survived such an ordeal and others will be spared the same torture she endured. But, how ghastly for her, and the ongoing battle she will have overcoming such brutality. My sympathies to her and her friends and family.

_________
No human being should be able to enact such atrocities upon another without the severest of penalties. Prison is not penalty enough. These people who commit these crimes do NOT CARE ONE BIT about the victim. They do not see that they have done something wrong. Very few cases ever admit that any PAIN was felt by their victim. But, as any sane person knows, the pain of the victim is not ending upon death, nor upon outside healing of wounds. The pain of the victim is passed on to their family and friends if the victim dies or survives....these people suffer anyway. The law says that if they KNEW they were doing wrong when they committed the crime, they are sane. Most criminals know they are doing wrong, they just will not admit it. Most of them do not ever change, no matter how long they are imprisoned. In that case, and I believe wholeheartedly, in any case involving the rape, assault, molestation or death of a child, especially, the death penalty should be imposed.

_____
Thanks for the topic, Maria....and thank you all for permitting the time and space for me to say my piece.
