Thumbs down

In light of the the "For all to pay their respects.." topic CAN WE PLEASE PUT THING IN PERSPECTIVE and stop bickering?...

If you can stop the junk mail being sent to nonson then do so thanatos. If you can somehow get back at Thanatos then dont REV nonson. Please grow up one and all, it was mildly amusing at first - now its just pathetic.

I looked up pettyness for correct spelling yesterday thats when I found that big word I used

I can agree to giving it up but this flag has been raised before many times.

Do we read this post and see that this is what we want and in the mean time before everyone has a chance to see that we want peace time then another author / poster is in another post hacking away and then it becomes a never ending attack?

Still the root of it is that we misunderstand each other and probably will continue to do it.

As a example I emailed someone this morning and while I was upset with this person he took it as an attack and that was not how it was meant.

Its like someone just posted it is the fact that this medium you cant tell what tone someone is using.

I try to ask what someone means but I find it hard to talk to a few here much less when I ask they might take that the wrong way as well.

Is there a solution?

Is there anyone else out there that has problems with approach?

Unhappy

There will always be problems when using this medium with people taking things in the wrong way. I suppose we just have to try to make the best of it.

It should be clear however that the reason I posted this was because there was a situation where 1 person had signed another up to junkmail, the other threatened revenge and there was a torrent of insults flowing between the 2. This wasn't a wee misunderstanding, it was out of hand and the conversation had moved from a topic to a slagging match.

Debates and disagreements can be helpful and there are some pretty witty people in here who can make them amusing but this was different.

You make a good point aboout the difficulty in interpreting someones tone via the internet and maybe people will have suggestions on this. But at the end of the day what really matters is that people can let things go if there is a disagreement or personality clash. Theres no point getting all upset like a someone did earlier, I mean all you have to do is click on the wee cross on the top right of your screen if the worst comes to the worst..

Anyway I wouldn't worry about being misunderstood Janet most of the people in here are reasonable and will listen if try to explain.

Ross

Wink

Emoticons (smilies) are supposed to convey emotion in internet posts... but it's no substitute for body language or tone of voice.

BTW, some of us don't have a wee box with an X in it at the top right corner of our screens... we're not all slaves of the Bill Gates Empire...
