The notion of God i can imagine it in a prehistoric culture... but now a days i find to kind of men that believe in God:
1) the ones that need to believe in something because of their suffering 2) the ones that want to keep this lie going in order to prevent the poor to raise God doesnt exist as we consider it.. there is need of a first cause but there is no need for this cause to know us I find it so arbitrary of men to try to describe god as they know him... it is so stupid to think to have the truth about something so big that scapes from human knowledge... and as we cannot talk nothing about the first cause we should stop telling lies about that Religions have been an instrument of many kings to send their armies in to conquest wars... they have cause more suffering than good... Most people dont even know why they believe, they were just born in a home that practise that religion and they continue it with out ever thinking about it Faith is so illogical... i do not even consider it as an argument but as a desire of been loved and guided by some one... it shows both ignorance and , sorry to say this, but it shows weakness... wether we like it or not to admit this... I admit believing in god can help some people to ease their suffering... but it is a nice lie... if i like to believe in elfs and that mekaes me happy... that dosent erase the fact that elfs doesnt exist Anyone who claims the existence of god should have to prove it.. otherwise they should not talk about that God doesnt exist, and if he exists i think he is very very very sadic in many aspects, quoting Sartre in my idea And, if god is all mighty... can he build a rock so heavy not to be carried even by him? can he hate us? or order us to hate him? or quit his job?... I hope to be wrong... |

Mr. Collins
God is not an instrument to keep down the masses. The Roman Catholic Church was an instrument to keep down the masses. Religions like that built on man-made traditions, instead of Jesus Christ, have done more to harm the name of Jesus than any outsider. Don't confuse Jesus Christ with the Catholic church, or any human denomination for that matter. And as for the fact that we can't know about God-why would he make us sentient and self-aware then? Why not stupid animals? Something to think about. . Hoping you find the Truth of Christ, The Modern Bard |

Geez Luciano, why don't you just call everyone but yourself a blathering idiot?
If you have read any of the postings on the other threads in here, you would see that many of us have broken away from the religion we were raised on. If we're just sheep following others to the slaughter, then why do we question? I happen to also disagree with your observations as to why man needs to believe in God. Your two reasons are; 1) because of their suffering and 2) keep the lie going to prevent the poor from rising. What in the world are you talking about? And just who are "the ones?" ------------------ Gaol, Dilseachd, Cairdeas |

"God is an instrument to keep quiet the poor and the unhappy"
that's why the authorities in South American countries like Brazil are getting worried because the growing church populations are giving the weak and the oppressed a place to speak out against the injustices they suffer ? "can he build a rock so heavy not to be carried even by him?" Sorry, but this question makes no sense. A. what would be the point, what good would it prove ? B. who would pay any attention anyway.? Carrying a rock would require God to exist in human form, and people are still ignoring the after effects of the last time that happened. ------------------ More Irn Bru !!!! |

No Pudding, Luciano isn't the other two. He's a "young" man from Argentina, who starts trouble. <hahaha> (Just kidding, I think.) He has some very interesting views like, Scotland should raise arms against England, etc., etc.
