Before anyone argues about Qur'an and its truth, read it and understand it, then I will happy to answer any doubt you might have come across in this unique book.
The words in that book are not human words, those words were said by God to mankind.

People like to argue and never liked to give reasons why they think they are right.

Steve,

Theres a wall thats been put up by Muslim and you concerning your treatment and attitudes. In fact the both of you have put up this wall in your approach to the subject.

Your thinking that Christians are brainwashed is unfounded with a lack of evidence and certainly cannot be defended with the propagandist style that both you and Muslim have presented your views to us. The only people that are doing any ignoring in this discussion are Muslim and you as you appear to be blind to other peoples beliefs and feelings. In fact you seem to think its only a Christian vs Muslim issue and continually ignore the other religions and beliefs held out there.

This discussion has nothing to do with the argument of the Koran vs the Gospels or historical claims to it or how they are interpreted. This fact I have reminded the both of you several times. The discussion has nothing to do who they were written for or written by.

The arguments concerning whether either is the true word or not belongs in its own thread and not in a discussion of the existence of God.

Your both doing very little to promote your views in fact you are doing more to polarize people away from your thinking.

You are absolutley right Goose, and you must be fed up telling Muslim what this topic is realy about.
I wanted different ideas about what people believe their god to be. If they think their god is a physical or spiritual entity, or if they just feel a presence, or a supreme being, or electrical energy, and also where does this god exist. This topic is important to me. I am realy searching for something, and most people gave me a lot to think about, between all of your beliefs and points of view. I even read the sites Muslim put up, but it is very similar to the bible, as far as, its this way or no way. You have to accept it as it is written, heaven help you if you try to think for yourself, or question it,these are the facts and the truth, and you accept it with no questions asked sorry Muslim, but I think your brainwashed and insulting other peoples beliefs.

Wow...what a discussion -- for starters.

I was brought up to be a Baptist Christian as this is one of the predominant Christian sects from the Mid Atlantic US to the Deep South.

I left this religion behind me at age 12 (now 23). I started to investigate other beliefs, religions, & philosophies. I found Wicca after meeting my future boyfriend and current fiancé. I explored this religion along with other forms and humanist philosophies.

After a short period of 2 years.. I left religion behind me. I delved into my own spirituality. Whether we like or not...we are birthed into a world filled with dreams, beliefs, imagninations, and struggle. I left religion because I refuse to follow anyone being entirely but myself.

When say "I refuse to follow anyone being entirely but myself" I mean I do not subscribe myself to believe in a "GOD". I believe in a force or a will per se. I do not humanize this "force" or "will" into a "GOD."

Books...are subjective. man-made.

I find religion to be a dividing concept. I promote care and unity. Although we are a world of positives, neutrals, and negatives.

I respect a person's choice of faith. However, I do not care for those who feel I a subserviant to their belief. I do not care for those who deem it necessary to prevent my life to make their live's more prosperious. And when I say prosperious..I do not mean in terms of money.

I do class my self as Atheist no matter what others say. The power of the self is just as high as another's calling of GOD. However, I never place myself above another nor create a place to hold others subserviant to my will. However, I feel that I have great amount of duty to forge bonds with others and work to create a world of strength and courage.

I wish people would drop the many of the flimsy, flaky points of religion and embrace themselves as something strong.

I belive in me. I belive in the wholeness that can come from using myself to work the clay that I have been given. My reality is affected by others and the force and will that binds me to them and myself.

I choose not to put my faith into an imaginary "humanized" force, but in an invisible truthful force. An example of this invisible truthful force is Nature.

Well... I think I have said a lot...and I going to start to ramble...soon if not already =)

Con Espiritu y Amor,

Lynn

Hello Lynn , seems like you have tried a lot of soul searching also and found what works for you, that's wonderful. As you know from reading through this thread, I have been having some difficulty finding something, anything that will give me a feeling of not being totally along on this planet. I do not mean being lonely, but in search of something greater. I have had a lot of help as you can tell from the replies. I appreciate your imput, thanks pudding.

I believe in Jehovah God. I believe he resides in heaven, and that he and his son, Jesus and the holy spirit are not one. I believe that by means of his son, he will put an end to all of the wickedness on this earth, and all obedient mankind will live in a paradise earth forever.
