I am what some call a spirit person. I am on my pathway..I am on that spiritual journey. And am by no means wasting away my life.

I thought this topic was about whether or not one believed in life after death. I did not know it was only about Spiritualist beliefs on the subject. Not being a spiritualist and not wishing to offend those spiritualists who see this thread as their exclusive domain, I shall withdraw from any further discussion on this thread.

What does this all have to with Life after Death?

Mother Theressa and Martin Luther etc., were not spiritual. News to me.

Cool

Awwww Neil, don't poop out. I just interpreted that Rob wanted to discuss the Spiritualist views on life after death. Not organized religions views.

You know, it's rather hard on here to be certain what people are asking. If we ever hear from Rob again, he can clarify it. I could be wrong too. If so, I'll promptly apologize.

I do believe there is something more after death.. I believe our souls go on to be reborn...its very saddening to think that this is it..that once our body dies its over.

we should live our current lives to the fullest.. I do every single day.. even though I know that once this shell (body) dies I will have another one.. another chance..

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...Neil!!!
I always look forward to your viewpoints and totally respect your thoughts. ...And I kind of like what you wrote about considering an after-life as a "bonus". I think if more people thought that way there may be more tolerance and less self-rightiousness in the World. I think the Baptist Churches were among some of the worst, (sorry if I offend any Baptists onboard here), about joining their church basically to "save your own butt". (Like, what kind of deep meaning spiritual rational is that? "Go our way or spend eternity in Hell!") I never could understand religions that play upon peoples fears and insecurities, (Seems kind of like the "hard-sell" to me). I was once at a Baptist Church as a visitor and watched a man walk out during the service. The minister stopped cold, pointed the man out, and declared that Satan was forcing him to leave! (I thought, "Why you pompous arse...who gave you the direct hot-line to God?") btw, I was the second person to walk out! (So much for "Judge not, lest you be judged...") And I could have cared less what the sanctamonious jerk thought about me.
I thought, "If that's YOUR God....I want no part of him/her!" (Well, it was Baptist so it would have to be a HIM!)

Good to see you posting again Sapphire. Missed ya!
I believe there is something more too. I find it sad to believe that when we die, that's it, zip, nothing. Besides, I've had my own experience of hearing my mother speak years after her death as has my father and sister. She always said if there was a way, she would let us know that she was okay. So, with that, you can't change my mind that there is nothing after you die.
