What do people mean when they say that "God" has spoken to them?
Do they get a message from something else in their own voice? Or in someone elses voice?

This has always bothered me when I've heard people proclaim this. Why would they be chosen to hear God? I know that mostly it's from tv evangelist, so why them?

Cool

I should have been more specific. I mean "now." When people say God speaks to them today. Not in the Bible.

The clue was tv evangelists.

This isn't current....BUT The history channel did a segment on a young French boy who had a "vision" of a young army defeating the armies in the UK, (17th or 18th Century) Mainland Europeans volunteered their own young children for the crusade. Many of the kids died in route in the snow of the mountainous regions and others drowned crossing the channel. Of the children that survived, they were sold into slavery upon their easy defeat when they reached England. An entire generation of children were lost due to this boys vision.

What a sad time in history.

Becca,
I too am perplexed with this. But there is a book out there that is supposed to be mind altering. It's called Conversations with God. A man wrote it, I'm not sure of his name though. But if you look it up under a search engine it will definately come up. My work is all ablaze with this book. Everyone seems to be reading it but I can't seem to get past the title. You've inspired me though to borrow it from my compadres and see what all the hubbub is about. Maybe you too will have your question answered? I don't know thought it would help. Wendy Woo

I swear if I heard someone talking to me while I was alone, I would have two choices 1.Go to my shrink because I'd think that I was Schizophrenic or
2.I would instantly believe in a God...
