I'm with Neil on this one. I believe Faith is taking blind trust as a way of conquering the fears we might have of the unknown.
Religion is in an extension of this and is merely a group of faithfuls who believe in the same blind trust. It's definitely a great starting place for guidance but we have to remember that it is far too easy to allow our faith to take control of what we are really seeing or experiencing. You just have to read the histories of some of the older organized religions to get an idea of how easy it is for us to get sidetracked. The Spanish Inquistion, the search for the Holy Grail are good examples. Faith is good we all need blind trust but over-zealousness can be dangerous and has done a lot to kill some very good relationships and ideas. ------------------ Goose **************** "All science has one aim, namely, to find a theory of nature." Religion- to me is a form of worship that includes attitudes, and practices. what you do and how you worship God. He instructs us in the bible how he wants this done.
faith- a person must first find out what the bible says, and he will strengthen his conviction if he examines its carefully so as to be convinced of its reliability. faith-you are convinced. ------------------ B.A.D. |

Religion to me is when you pay respect to your beliefs. Call it homage. When you attempt to live your life to your moral convictions of what is right or wrong. I don't believe you need to join a "group" to have some kind of religion. I hate being pigeonholed with a label slapped on me.
Faith to me is a gut feeling that one gets. Not particuarly connected to religion. I have "faith" that my dog will protect me. Perhaps faith is trust. ------------------ Gaol, Dilseachd, Cairdeas |
