My other half says he is no longer a practicing Catholic, he reckons after all these years he has become proficient at it!
Lol!

Best regards,
Brian.

My wife is RC (Philippines) and goes to church every week. She wants to get a Chrissy Pressie for the church and asked me to get a box of wine (I think 5l box Drosty Hof South African claret will do) for her to give so they can use it during the blood of Christ etc.

I was totally surprised at her request on 2 counts:- 1) I never realised the RC church used "real" wine (I thought it used special non-alcoholic sacremental wine) and 2) to buy booze here in Oman, you need a permit (obtainable from the police) and is for personal use at home, not for giving away for outside consumption.

But I looked up the internet and asked an English friend whose RC and the answer was that normal red wine (made from grapes) is used. It can be watered but not altered other than that.

So I thought I might need maybe 20-30 boxes (which hold 24 glasses capacity each) but my wife said everyone just gets a wee sip only, not a full glass, so one box should be enough.

But we better put it in a black poly bag and leave it anonymously in case I get into trouble with the polis.

Or should I get a few bottles of Buckfast or Thunderbird ?

I'm not sure if Scotland is big on TLM Masses.
The only place that celebrate them that I know of is Edinburgh and Glasgow. FSSP and SSPX .
