Round and Round We Go

When I see the confidently intricate statements and hypotheses etc made by devotees and followers of religion about the creation, impossibility of there being no God, if God's a man or a woman etc etc, it reminds me of Rick in The Young Ones.

Any discussions on modern popular music saw Rick, a Cliff Richard fan, asserting that all that has happened in pop, rock, soul, ska & reggae, rap, etc etc was directly tied back to the career of Cliff Richard (eg how the '60's were completely shaped by Cliff Richard's music and career) and for others to disprove it.

My wife is a practising RC (after some absence, she is now back). I drop her off at her church but, having gone in with her a few times, I decided it was all the same every week and was not for me - Boring - religion by numbers designed for the slowest in the class !! At least the Presbyterians and Congregationalists offer new hymns every week and a rip-roaring story or two (but we don't have those churches here in Oman).

My wife started going to church after a scare where she thought someone put a bad spell/curse on her (well, she is Filipina and they go for that crap!). I felt it was safer for her to believe in God rather than ghoulies, ghosties and witches.
