Here in the US tornados are a fairly frequent occurrance, and churches for some reason seem to be a regular target of their destruction, possibly because of their style of construction, or because we have so many of them. Oddly enough, one rarely hears of a strip-club or a bar being destroyed by tornados. Of course if there was a god(ess), who's to say that (s)he is a christian?

Is God responsible for natural disasters?

According to the bible, yes.

However, in reality, 3 possibilities :

a) He doesn't cause them but sits back helplessly watching the carnage unfold unable to do anything.

(In this case he's not much of a God)

b) He causes them just to keep things ticking over for the humans in case they get bored.

(In this case he has an odd sense of humour and is paying us back for the programming mistake of giving us free will.)

c) He doesn't exist.

(My personal favourite since the simplest explanation is often the best).
