JC. I have not been invited to act as Council for Ifti and have no particular desire to take it on.

Just a wee point or two, then it’s all yours.

The significance of where his posting was placed eludes me. I thought it said “In the News” Several members have posted in the wrong section and had to have it moved. Could you allow that he noticed this and did just that?

He is not calling for Muslim schools, private or public. He merely states what he sees as their significance. His silence on the subject cannot be taken as acceptance or rejection of you proposal. We just don’t know what he thinks of it. We cannot conclude that by his silence he is rejecting it and therefore automatically proposing what you imply. Is silence enough to condemn a man and prove his guilt?

Might he not be implying that, like religious education, sex education should be for the parents to impart? Just a thought.

Maybe he has accepted your suggestion and is busy out there somewhere building one. Could also explain why he does not respond. Too busy.

@ifti

What is it good for to take an Article from "Pakistan Daily", post it to every forum you could post and leave people debating your post?
Are you interested in what people do write and think about your post or is it just a way to make fun of us?

I think... oh wait - who cares, because I doubt you'll read anything on here anyway.

Crofter, it's just a pattern that I've noticed. He's done this quite often. I'm always apprehensive about people who post something like this... and then disappear. I've even tried baiting him to see if he's actually monitoring his post.. but alas, it seems like he just hits and runs... I like a good debate.

I just wonder at his intent. He does call for Muslim schools... his post says.. ' the demand for Muslim schools....'

Anyways, perhaps you're right.... perhaps he's out there building the schools right now... and on my next trip to Scotland in a couple months, I can get a ticket and a headset and have my own private touring.

Sorry, I smell troll... he does this too often... Anyways, off to work... can't pay my bills sitting on the computer. Have a nice day.

Itsme makes a good point. It does look like a piece of journalism. Similar pieces appear in most newspapers regularly.

Like any piece of journalism it does not make any statements that cannot be corroborated. Nothing in the piece can be said to indicate a personal view either way.

Your point JC “I just wonder at his intent. He does call for Muslim schools... his post says... ' the demand for Muslim schools....'”

The piece actually says “The demand for Muslim schools comes from parents......” You could not even say from this piece that he is a parent, far less a parent calling for Muslim schools.

This is the second time I have come across the word “Troll” So I looked it up to see if there was a cure for it. Your comment JC, “I've even tried baiting him to see if he's actually monitoring his post...” This may merit, at the very least, a slap on the wrist.

We have been at the forefront, for the past couple of weeks, in defending the right of those who wish to enquire about the Gaelic culture not to have their motives questioned. We would not be doing our cause any favours if we were seen to be in the forefront questioning the motives of other cultures. I cannot recall seeing any other posting from a Muslim, if that is what he is. Perhaps our reaction to this one might ensure that we do not see any in future.

Many of the responses seek to emphasise motive, little of the content. He has raised a serious point that has implications for this generation. We may choose to attack his motives but are we not condemning him out of hand, and with no evidence, of being disingenuous.

Regards,

Crofter.

This article in fact comes from the London school of Islamics

London School Of Islamics

and while it claims to be promoting Muslim issues in general if you look at the "discussions" (some of which to me seem more like polemics) on the website a lot of the views it's promoting are quite radical and of the Jihadist variety. For example it tries to suggest that honour killings are the result of children going to state schools rather than Muslim schools. Before I ever make any in depth comments on articles such as this I always cut and paste the opening line into the address bar to see where it comes from. I would tend to avoid sanctioning anything that comes from a website with views that are clearly radical Islamic in origin. Nothing in it is explicitly provocative but the innuendo and underlying message it's promoting aren't what most people in the UK would be comfortable with given the current threat from extreme Islamic groups.

Apparently Ifti (Iftikhar Ahmad) has been spamming blogs and discussion forums with this text for the past two years. The following provides a few alternative viewpoints.

The London school of Islamics and Ahmad have a record going back several years of promoting outlandish radical Islamic propaganda for example criticising the logo of AC Milan for sporting a crusader style cross which allegedly "symbolized western racist superiority over Islam."

That's the kind of general nuttiness you're dealing with when you discuss any articles from their website.
