Actually, once again, No. We have our own skilled workers too and do not need immigrants taking those jobs either. The way the UK population is, especially in England there will never be a shortage of skilled workers. We simply don't currently need immigration of any sort.

Actually, not really correct. I'm highly skilled even here in the US, there are not enough of me to go around for everyone. In fact, just saw the new listings on the immigration website. My profession is on the 'occupation shortage' list which means the government recognizes that they cannot fill the job openings with their UK citizens or even the supply of EU citizens which means, I automatically would get the points needed to immigrate over without NHS having to provide supporting evidence as to why they hired me... should I ever want to come over.

Not all immigration is bad. I understand your feelings. The US has a broke system... many illegal immigrants here have jobs while citizens do not because they will work for less than the government requires... on the offhand, we have immigrants here from all over the world who provided needed services and our country benefits from their arrival.

I have looked into working over there.. but unlike your unskilled work force... I would like to work, provide a service, and after a year or so come home... not stay there indefinitely and milk the system so to speak.

I'm guessing this conflict is due to the 'open migration' policy? I'm slightly familiar with it... it probably makes things very tense considering the unemployment rate that is currently running rampant in the country.

That isn't the primary concern however. What is happening is that large numbers of unskilled and semi educated workers have come into this country from Eastern Europe and most of them end up doing menial labour as well as living off of state benefits. An example is that we have a magazine in the UK called the big issue which was designed to be sold by homeless people to earn some extra money. In my area the big issue sellers are now almost exclusively Romanian in fact most of them belong to the same family and they have monopolised it. All they do for eight hours a day is stand outside shops and sell the magazine - the same man has been outside my workplace virtually every day for the past three years. He has no intention of getting a job and can you blame him? So all we are doing is exacerbating the skill shortage in developing countries by discouraging foreign workers from ever trying to better themselves and learn a trade.

Weather the UK needs more skilled workers from abroad or not, most immagrants are unskilled anyway. Some may have the good intention to find work but most do not as the work simply isn't available and if it is there then it should, by right, go to the natives.

And as already mentioned many also have no intention of working because they know that in "soft-touch" Britain they can get by without working.

Actually there are many who are born here who would rather live off benefits than actually work. Some couples will actually have kids knowing full well that even though they do not have jobs to support their children, they can get by on benefits. Although it must be a rather poor state of affairs to be in if you survive on benefits, not much of a life.

Because you are laying the blame for all of Britain's ills at the door of the immigrant community. Most of the teenage stabbings in Scotland are white on white. Any comment about that ? Gang culture existed in Britain long before the days of mass immigration. Any comment on that ?

Thats because the vast majority of the population is Scotland is white. I should mention that the majority of the population in London is white too (only just), but the knife crime is disproportionatly more black criminals.
