Secular countries have less crime.Secular countries have less crime.
Perhaps they have less laws.

Here in Scotland we live in a Police State.

Thousands fo new 'laws' have been brought in by both UK and Scottish government. For example their are signs on many of the lamp posts
here in Ross-shire:
"Alcohol drinking prohibited in this area. Penalty £500"

This in a village where there is a distillery!

I will repeat for effect.
Here in Scotland we live in a Police State.

You clearly have little conception of what a police state is really like.

More stringent laws have had to be introduced due to the rise in anti social behaviour. We don't live in a police state but the existing laws weren't deterring people from drinking and acting disorderly in public so inevitably tougher laws had to be introduced. The one thing I do have a problem with however is the number of CCTV cameras. Apparently there are now over 4 million in the UK and I doubt if they are a cost effective means of preventing crime. The money would be better spent putting police on the streets.

From http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publicati.../12/03151641/1 , second bullet:

There is minimal evidence to suggest that CCTV effectively deters crime, and in cases where crime does appear to be deterred, this effect is generally short-lived.

There is no need to build huge buildings to pray to nothing, you can do it in your own home.

Hardly any churches are now being built and many existing church buildings are being put to practical use nowadays. In my town at least four former churches have been converted to alternative uses ranging from a bistro to a housing complex. It's been a boost to the local economy and I'd be quite happy to see the process continue.

There's no need for a lot of things. There's no need for me to go to the pub because I can drink in my own home. There's no need for you to regale us with your "poetry".
